A person if eligible to apply for the dv lottery can apply for it from the USA or outside of USA.

To apply he must meet the simple but strict rules.


01. The person must be born in a country which is mentioned as eligible countrt by the U.S.State department. He must be more than the age of 18 years as for the eduaction requirement. There is no upper limit mentioned for the applicant in the program.

If you were born in a country which is ineligible for the lottery and you want to participate in the program, then you can claim in two other ways.

1.If your spouse was born in a country whose natives are eligible, you can claim your spouse'scountry of birth provided both you and your spouse are on the selected entry, are issued visas and enter the U.S. simultaneously.


02. If you were born in a country which is ineligible for the lottery, but neither of your parents was born there or resided there at the time of your birth, you may claim nativity in one of your parents' country of birth if it is a country whose natives qualify for the DV program.

A. A high school education or its equivalent, defined as successful completion of a 12-year course of elementary and secondary education,
It is important that you must have passed successfully your High School Examination with passes in compulsary subjects.

OR

B.Two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training or experience to perform. The U.S. Department of Labor's O*Net OnLine database will be used to determine qualifying work experience. For more information about qualifying work experience.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS DON'T PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM.


Married person must include spouse (wife/husband) all his/her children who are unmarried and under the age of 21. Each person must include a separate photograph and personal details regardless of wether they are immigrating or not. Those children in the US as citizen or LPr are not to be included.

ONE PERSON CAN ENTER ONLY ONE ENTRY WITH HIS/HER NAME AS PRIMARY APPLICANT.

If applied more then one entry all the entries will be disqualified regardless of who submitted them.

A Husband and wife each can submit one entry thus a family can submit two entry. Who ever win both can immigrate together.
There is no fee to apply for the entry.

Also you can ask some one else to send an entry on your behalf, although this will not improve the chance of winning a visa.Winners will be selected by a computer random draw.

Winning the lottery doesn't guarantee you a visa but will allow you to apply for it.

Winners will be notified by regular postal mail with further instruction and visa fees to the address which they gave in the entry.

Winners in the USA, if they are staying in USA legally may contact the USICS to change their status to LPR.

Issuing visa or changing of will start in October and will stop on 30th of September 2010. There after No visa or changing of status will not be allowed, the DV 2010 program closes on that day.
