DV(Diversity Visa or Green Card Lottery) 2010 Eligibility Countries

DV 2010, (Green card Lottery) Diversity Program Eligibility.
DV 2010 Green Card lottery will allow people born in Russia and Kosovo to participate equally with the other eligible country..

To participate in this lottery, you must be a Native of an eligible country. The eligible countries will be calculated and will be announced by the USCIS. Native of a country means, the country where you were born. If you were born in a country which is not eligible to participate in the lottery, then you can claim the native country of your parents or of your spouse country if they are eligible.
To Claim native country through your parents Countries (if your birth country is not an eligible country) You may claim your parent's country of birth as your native country, if one of your parent was born or resident in a DV 2010 eligible country, at the time of your birth when you were born.

You may claim your spouse's birth Country as your native country by proving your spouse was born in an eligible country. If any of you win the lottery, and the winner have educational or work qualification you and your spouse must obtain visas and must enter the U.S.A together.

Here are a list of country names which natives are not eligible to participate in the DV2010.
Natives of these countries are not eligible because within the last 5 years they have sent more than 50,000 people legally in to the USA.

BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA (mainland-born), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN, REPUBLIC, EL SALVADOR, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PHILIPPINES, PERU, POLAND, SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM, (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and VIETNAM.

People who are born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan are eligible to participate in this DV-2010 Green Card lottery.

Secondly you must have the required education, You must have successfully completed 12 years of primary and secondary education, comparable to a high school education in the United States.

OR

Must Have two years of work experience within the last 5 years in an occupation Listed in the Department of labour as Job Zone 4 or 5, classified in a Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) range of 7.0 or Higher to apply for this DV-2010 Green card lottery. No need to submit any work experience in the form when applying for the DV lottery.

A person can submit only one entry as primary applicant in the DV-2010 program. If more than one entry is submitted, all the entries will be rejected regadless of who submitted them.
